I’m not sure how many of you have read old romance novels from the late 80s/90s but they are drastically different from the romance novels you get today. What I didn’t really like about the series was the romance. It wasn’t always happy-go-lucky in this series and I liked that. I like how there is a villain and I like that actual dangerous things happen and sometimes they have disastrous consequences. It makes things creepy and darker than some of the other vampire series out there. Yet Vampire Diariesfeatures your blood drinking, bat-changing vampires who are up to no-good. I know that there is lots of disagreements over how vampires are portrayed in books/popular culture but I’ve never really minded these alterations to what I call “modern vampires”. One thing I really loved about Vampire Diariesis that it is a darker series where evil is always lurking. I had the combined volumes I used for the covers for this post so I really have a hard time differentiating the plot of each book because it just seems like one big story–which is what a series is really–but what I’m trying to say is that it is all one big blur so don’t ask me about individual books! The powered hang gliders now have the capability of sustained flight above 10,000 feet and forward speed exceeding 50 knots. As the result of aerodynamic improvements, many unpowered hang gliders are now capable of extended soaring to altitudes exceeding 10,000 feet above the point of launch and distances of over 100 miles. The increasing performance capabilities of these vehicles, and their greatly increased number, have created a potential hazard to other aircraft and operators, as well as to the ultralight operators themselves. The addition of powerplants and controllable aerodynamic surfaces has created vehicles which can approximate the operational capabilities of fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. As a result of those developments, many hang gliding vehicles no longer fall within the scope envisioned by Advisory Circular No. Many models have passenger carrying capability. There is now widespread use of powerplants, landing gear, and movable control surfaces to increase the speed, altitude, and distance capabilities of the vehicles. The advisory circular defined “hang glider” as “an unpowered, single place vehicle whose launch and landing capability depends on the legs of the occupant and whose ability to remain in flight is generated by natural air currents only.” The sport of hang gliding has advanced dramatically since Advisory Circular No. That advisory circular contained recommended safety parameters for the operation of sport hang gliders, in lieu of formal Federal regulation. 60-10, entitled “Recommended Safety Parameters for Operation of Hang Gliders” on May 16, 1974. 20591, telephone (202) 426-3128, or Gary Perkins, General Aviation Operations Branch (AFO-820) Federal Aviation Administration, Washington, D.C. Along with his brother Jack, Mills built a publishing company that would be the envy of the entire music world. Stopping in Asheville, North Carolina, Miller played to capacity crowds at the Majestic Theater on the corner of College and Market Streets. His career as a blackface vaudeville star was going nowhere but up. Turning back to the mid-twenties, when Hank Williams was only a toddler, it was Emmett Miller who was riding high. MGM Records released "Lovesick Blues" in February 1949, and it became an overnight success, quickly reaching number one on Billboard's Top C&W singles and number 24 on the Most Played in Jukeboxes list. Receiving an enthusiastic reception from the audience, Williams decided to record his own version despite initial push back from his producer Fred Rose and his band. The recordings by Griffin and Miller inspired Hank Williams to perform the song during his first appearances on the Louisiana Hayride radio show in 1948. It was recorded by Emmett Miller in 19, and later by country music singer Rex Griffin. The song first appeared in the 1922 musical Oh, Ernest.
